TUN ISMAIL BIN MOHAMED ALI (1918 - 1998)

Tun Ismail was born on September 16, 1918 in Port Kelang, Selangor. He obtained the Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge in 1941 and graduated from Middle Temple, Inns of Court London as a Barrister-at-Law in 1943.

RAJA TUN MOHAR BIN RAJA BADIOZAMAN (1923 - 2003)

Raja Tun Mohar was born in 1923 and received his early education at the Clifford School, Kuala Kangsar. He studied at the Raffles College, Singapore and obtained his diploma in 1946, resuming studies after World War II. He graduated from the University of Cambridge in 1952 with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Economics, and obtained the post-graduate Diploma in Agricultural Economics in 1953 from Oxford University.

Raja Tun Mohar was on the board of several companies and was active in the corporate sector. He passed away peacefully on June 8, 2003.

ROYAL PROFESSOR UNGKU ABDUL AZIZ

Royal Professor Ungku Abdul Aziz was born in London on January 28, 1922. He completed his secondary education at the English College, Johore Bahru and obtained a diploma from Raffles College, Singapore in 1947. In 1951, he obtained the Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics (graduating with Class I Honours) from the University of Malaya, Singapore, and in 1964 the Doctor of Economics (Hakase) from Waseda University, Tokyo.

TAN SRI DATO’ ABDUL JAMIL RAIS

Tan Sri Dato' Abdul Jamil Rais was born on January 14, 1912 at Kuala Kangsar. He attended the Clifford School in the same town. He spent two years, 1952-1953 in the United Kingdom, where he studied Agricultural Economics at Oxford.

SIEW NIM CHEE (1925 - 2008)

Mr. Siew was born on August 2, 1925 in Kuala Lumpur. He completed his secondary schooling at the Victoria Institution. He obtained the Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Malaya, Singapore in 1950 and the Bachelor of Economics degree with Honours from the same institution in 1951. He went on to obtain a Master of Science in Industrial Labour Relations from Cornell University in 1953.

DATO’ DR. MOKHZANI ABDUL RAHIM (1938 - 2003)
Dato’ Dr. Mokhzani was born in 1938 in Perlis, where he also received his early education. He received the Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Malaya, Singapore (1960) and the Masters of Arts (1963) and Doctor of Philosophy (1973) degrees from the London School of Economics.

Tan Sri Dato' Lin See Yan was born on November 3, 1939. He has received the BA, the BA (Hons), the MPA (Finance), the MA (Econs), the PhD (Econs), the C.Stat. (London), the FRSS (London), the FIBM, the FMII (Hons.), the FMIM, the FMEA and the Hon. PhD (Econs).

Dr. R. Thillainathan was conferred the Fellowship of the Association on 22 July 2003. He was born on July 30, 1944. He received the Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Malaya (1968), the Master of Science in Economics (1970) and Doctor of Philosophy in Economics (1976) degrees from the London School of Economics.

Tan Sri Dato' Mohd Sheriff bin Mohd Kassim

Tan Sri Dato' Mohd Sheriff bin Mohd Kassim was awarded the Fellowship of the Association on 3 May 2024, coinciding with the MEA Fund-raising Dinner. Born on 2 August 1939 in Alor Setar, Kedah, he earned his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Economics from Universiti Malaya in 1963 and completed his Masters in Economic Development at Vanderbit University in 1974.
