The Malaysian Business Unit. a research unit within the School of Business Monash
University Malaysia, will be conducting a seminar on corporate governance entitled:
"Latest Developments in Corporate Governance in the Asia Pacific Region"
on Thursday. September 30th 2004.
Objective of the Seminar
Corporate governance is fast becoming
one of the key business issues in recent years. The importance of corporate
governance to organizations around the world
has also been reflected in an explosion of research in the field.
This seminar
is designed to be interactive, with a mixture of presentations, discussions
and case study sessions on the following areas:
•Recent amendments to legislation and selfregulatory codes on corporate governance
in the Asia Pacific region;
•The new 'Gold Standard' for corporate governance and business ethics: and
•Developments in corporate governance to restore and maintain public confidence
in corporations.
Who Should Attend
This seminar will provide a platform for the meeting of minds between regulators,
practitioners and academics to enhance knowledge, facilitate discussion and
debate in corporate governance and the current trends in the Asia Pacific region.
