MMM

The Yayasan Malaysian Economic Association (MEA) established Memorial Medals in recognition of outstanding individuals who have rendered exceptional service to the MEA and made significant contributions to the advancement of the discipline of economics. The inaugural Medal of the Yayasan MEA is being given in honour of the memory of the late Dato' Dr. Mokhzani bin Abdul Rahim who passed away on June 15, 2003. The Mokhzani Memorial Medal (MMM) was launched on July 22, 2003 during the 15th Malaysian Economic Association Convention, held in Kuala Lumpur. The Senate of the University of Malaya on April 22, 2004 officially approved the awarding of the MMM and passed the regulations pertaining to the Medal. The Medal is to be awarded annually to the best student obtaining a Distinction in the Master of Economics by Coursework programme.

The MMM is a living tribute to late Dato' Dr. Mokhzani's extraordinary contributions to the Malaysian Economic Association, and to the development of the Faculty of Economics and Administration, University of Malaya during his long and distinguished career with the University.

The MMM was established with a donation of forty thousand Ringgit to the University of Malaya. The donors are:
